Gus planted some of Quinn's hairs at the crime scene then, when he overheard Roman talk about the importance of finding the weapon used in the attacks, he put that in Quinn's hotel room. Quinn was quickly identified, and arrested. "It was a big surprise," Bren told us about Quinn's reaction. "The way it unfolded, he was not expecting it, at all. He's unfairly arrested and he's got no clue as to why. There's a bit of a set-up that's happened. But this is where his conscience starts to get the better of him. I think it's the beginning of the new Quinn that everyone is going to come to see. He starts to see the detriment to his chosen profession, to the women that work for him. It really starts to affect him."

We must admit we're happy that Quinn's conscience might start to get the better of him, that this might be "a huge turning point in his life," as Bren sees it. But up to now, how has he managed to justify his chosen profession, to himself? "He would tell himself that their lives would be so much worse if he wasn't there helping them," Bren said. "The way he sees it is they get to make a lot of money in a very short period of time and he gets to look after them. So I think his take on morality is a little bit different. He doesn't really see it as prostitution is such a bad thing.

"To him," Bren continued, "he feels like he's helping them get ahead in life, to work their way out of financial debt and problems. He has a different take on it to I guess what general society would. Generally, obviously, prostitution is frowned upon and a pimp even more so. But his take is very different, you know? And that's coming from him. An evil person doesn't necessarily think they're evil. They think they're fully justified in what they're doing. I'm not saying he's evil, but just using that as an example."

Quinn's take on morality may be unusual, but it comes from an honest place, from a childhood that was less than ideal. He sees things differently, and, according to Bren, "that goes back to his childhood, being abandoned by a mother and having a very harsh upbringing by his father. That kind of made way for him to mold into the person he became. Obviously, they tailored his views to the world in being the way they are. And one of those is his view on prostitution and being a pimp.

"There's a lot of reasons why adults turn the way they are," Bren continued thoughtfully. "I think a lot of it stems from childhood. And a lot of it comes from parents and the way parents are to their children. That's how you turn out as an adult. It plays a huge part in your life. People pay thousands of dollars in therapy to try to dig up what those problems were, don't they? It would be good for a therapist to get into Quinn's head!"

One of the scenes that most revealed the pain remaining from Quinn's childhood involved him, Vivian and some baseball cards. Apparently, Quinn was a huge baseball fan as a child, despite living in Australia, and Vivian knew this. She got him a bunch of baseball cards as a gift, but, thanks to his father, never got to give them to him. Now that they've reconnected, she's taken the opportunity to give him the gift. It was an incredibly touching scene. "It was good," Bren agreed. "Louise was just so generous and available. You know, you saw her performance. She was just there. It was a good scene. I enjoyed that. That was one of the more special scenes I guess I could say that I shared with Louise. Particularly in that scene, he speaks about not even being able to listen to a baseball game. He had to hide it from his father. That kind of gives a bit of an indication of how harsh his father was on him. "I think he's a very, very complex person," Bren concurred. "Even from a lot of the people Twittering me! They're like, 'oh my God, I don't know where Quinn's going to go next!' That's the way I see him and that's the way I've tried to bring him to life. And as humans, we're not just on one page or one note the whole time. We go from one extreme to the next on the turn of a dime. And I think that's the way he is. There's so much going on with Quinn. He's got a lot of love; he's caring. He's a very genuine person, but he also can be formidable if he's crossed. He's an aggressive alpha male as well as everything else. He does have that really genuine caring side to him as well. So, yeah, a really complex character, complex person, I think."

And a character, apparently, that Bren is really enjoying playing. "Absolutely," Bren smiled. "Characters like that, when they've got so many layers, so many levels to them, and such a back story you can turn to to add flavor to what comes and what unfolds in his life in the present day from his history. As an actor, it's gold."

Having a great character to play, of course, is only one part of the equation. You also have to have great characters, and great actors, to play opposite. And Bren told us, "I've been really lucky to play against some really good actors. I think that's a really good part. Obviously, with everyone I've worked with, everyone's been great. I think with Tamara Braun, we had some pretty intense scenes where we were kind of at each other. There's a lot of history there. It's like tennis, you know? You're knocking the ball back and forth with someone and if they're giving you good returns, it becomes a very interesting, strong game. I think that's what I'm enjoying most. I'm giving Quinn out to the person I'm playing against and they're giving it back. That's when it becomes a lot of fun and really enjoyable. Everything's been pretty good. I'm pretty happy with everything at the moment. I guess I just enjoy all of it the most!"

Bren is enjoying it, and so are we. Quinn is unpredictable, and, as Bren noted, "it's causing a lot of uncertainty amongst some of the audience. Which is good, you know? It keeps them on their toes. It keeps them wondering. And it sparks a bit of intrigue and interest. If you can keep an audience not knowing what's going to happen next with your character, then I think that's a good thing. Because if you're predictable, they're going to get bored. If you're unpredictable, and they don't know where you're going to go next, they're going to be more interested in you and they're going to want to see where you go."
